Soccer 2014

Soccer this year was crazy! Crazy because we have 5 children to haul to the games, 2 and 3 times a week, games at 6:00 and/or 7:30.  Haul because we take to each game: 2 adult chairs, 2 kids chairs, 2 sippy cups, 2 water bottles, a variety of snacks, burp clothes, blankets, coats, coffee, wipes, and a stroller(and I'm sure other things I can't think of).  Even more fun, Brandon was in Georgia for the last 90% of the games.  PRAISE THE LORD for in-laws!!!  They helped me for every single game! I could not have done it without them! I did a horrible job at taking pictures this year and when I did, my camera was almost dead and on a weird setting.
Non-the-less..pictures of my athletes.

Noble had a wonderful coach this year who was super sweet and a great teacher.
Noble was lightening fast and was always wherever that ball was and was always so focused!
He loves soccer and is quite good at it, too!

Emma-Kate had a great coach this year, also.  He was the dad of a homeschool Co-Op friend.
Emma-Kate loves soccer and no matter what, is always smiling on the field!
Her favorite position, again, was goalie. She stopped lots of balls, too.
 It makes me nervous, though!

We had another great soccer season.
Emma-Kate and Noble had the best cheering squad!

Soccer 2013

Well, soccer season #2 has long been gone!  Soccer season #1...well, it was gone a year ago and I never posted pictures.  So, if you're bored and want to catch up... here is Emma-Kate's first season and Noble's first season.

The kids loved playing soccer last fall.  We weren't sure if Emma-Kate was going to play again, but at the last minute, she decided to go at it again. Turns out, they both ended up on the same color team.  Different coach, some of the same people.  That was really fun for all of us, and we ended up with some sweet friends.  Our coaches this year were wonderful.  Emma-Kate's even prayed with the team before each game.  Sadly, not what you see often.  This season was cold, but not as cold as last year!! Juggling 2 children with 2 different game schedules deemed a little more difficult this year with 2 demanding babies tagging along.  Especially when one unnamed child was d.o.n.e. with soccer games after about the first hour and a half, and made a game out of running on the field.  This happened pretty much every game.  People from everywhere were grabbing her off of the field.  We made it work, though, and were happy when grandparents were able to make it!!!

Emma-Kate, again, did a great job.  She had more confidence this year and was ready to get in the crowd and kick the ball.  And, this crazy girl, still LOVED to be goalie!!
I begged her not to do it, but she was great at it!
Between piano, gymnastics, and soccer, she surely is keeping us busy.

Noble was insanely aggressive this year!
He loves this sport so much. He ran and ran and was never without that ball! He had a friend on his team that he met last year.  They would talk on the field and come up with these plays and strategies on how to work together as a team to score.  I'm telling you, these 2 scored 90% of the goals.  Yes, I'm proud, but more because of the way they did it.  It was so cute to watch them chatting across the field at each other.

See ya next season...

T-Ball 2013

Noble, once again, had a super fun T-Ball season.  He loved getting to be on the same team again with his two friends.  Brandon had a pretty good time himself getting to coach with two of his friends.  This year, the boys got to hit the ball when the coach pitched, or hit it off of the tee.  Noble actually does much better without the tee and loves coach pitch!  This season was a little more challenging for me, though, because now I was responsible for 2 babies with no adult help.  Violet was about 3 weeks when the season started.  But, we made it and all had a blast watching the season's games! Baseball is definitely our favorite sport!

The girls did lots of playing during the games.  Emma-Kate came fully, fully prepared for each game. She not only helped me with my 2 babies, but she also helped out with 2 other toddlers.  She thoroughly enjoyed reading to them, feeding them, and orchestrating games and gymnastics events.
You can just imagine what I looked like walking through the field with my massive double stroller, folding chair, and coffee and Emma-Kate and her 2+ babies, baby doll carseat, backpack, picnic basket, hula-hoop, etc...

  Good-bye Tball , hello Soccer!

Noble's Cowboy Party!

This past Saturday (a month late) we celebrated Noble's 5th birthday with a cowboy party.  My baby boy thinks he's a cowboy, and pretty much dresses as one every.single.day, gun and all.  Because his cowboy idol is the Lone Ranger...I'm okay...and he watches black and white television and shoots his sisters.

He is extremely particular about details.  He had specifics about the cake, the Lone Ranger masks, and many other aspects of his party.  We had a blast and couldn't have requested better weather!  I think it was high 60's and wonderful!

My goal was to keep things simple (which is hard because I love, love birthday parties) and please the particular (takes after his Daddy) birthday boy.

The local grocery store did a fabulous job on his birthday cake and Noble arranged all of his toys in just the perfect spots.  He loved it!
We had 2 types of chili with toppings, cornbread (thanks to Popsy), pigs in a blanket, trail mix, and a few other things to go along.  We had hot cocoa...and didn't even need it on that beautiful, warm day!

I think the biggest hit of the party was the sticky, hairy moustaches!
Even the big kids played along!
We lassoed a horse, rode a horse (thanks to Uncle Cooper), wrestled Pop Pop, roasted marshmallows, and ATE Smores!

Noble can be so wild, and you wouldn't think it, but he is SOOO shy!  He hid under his disguise when we sang Happy Birthday to him.

Noble had so much fun at his party, celebrating with his sweet friends and family.  He got lots of wonderful gifts and made lots of special memories.

I'm still sad my baby boy is 5!
