One Last Valentine's Project

Emma-Kate came in this morning and decided that she wanted to make a few more stained glass hearts with the crayon shavings. As I was cleaning up after our project, I realized we had a million bits and pieces of crayons. I hated to be wasteful, then I remembered the fun project of making jumbo crayons.

We used our heart shaped cupcake pan and made some cute crayons!

1. fill your muffin tins (either metal or silicone) with broken crayons
2. bake at 250* for 10-20 minutes
(be careful when getting them out of the oven and don't mix the colors up)

3. cool
We put ours in the freezer because we were a little impatient in waiting for them to cool.

I'll definitely remember this project for another day. The kids spent a lot of time taking paper off of crayons and organizing the colors (good LONG project). Plus, they are ALWAYS dropping their crayons on the floor and most of ours are broken anyway!
